1987.
Founding of Conporec to find a long term solution to the problem
of municipal solid waste in Bas-Richelieu region, near Montreal.
Due to the increasing cost of waste management, and in the absence
of any landfill in the region, innovative technologies were actively
researched by local businessmen. A European technology using a bioreactor
was selected by Conporec.
December
1990. Conporec executes a contract with the MRC du Bas-Richelieu
which triggers the construction of the first plant using the Conporec
technology in Sorel-Tracy, Canada.
January
1993. Start-up of the Sorel-Tracy plant.
January
2001 Conporec and Stearns and Wheeler Services, Inc. execute
a consortium agreement for the construction of a plant using Conporec
sorting-composting technology in Delhi, Delaware County (New York).
August
2004. Conporec, through its wholly owned French subsidiary
Conporec SAS, together with engineering-construction firm ATEIM
SA, and architects l’Atelier d’Architecture BW SA, sign
a contract with SIETOM for the retrofitting of a former composting
plant located 20 km southeast of Paris at Tournan-en-Brie. The new
plant will use Conporec technology and have a capacity of 65 000
tons per year. Start-up of the plant is scheduled in the early 2008.
August
2005. Conporec acquires Biomax, a company with a portfolio
of technologies (MaxipilePlusTM, CompostAirTM,
RobotCompostTM) specialized in the composting of organic
matters.
